How figures are calculated
- Homes and values: single-family residences (state class A1) in the appraisal district's 2026 files; median of 2026 market values by subdivision.
- Tax rate: the sum of every taxing unit on the property at the latest full year of adopted rates. Yearly tax is median value times that rate, before exemptions.
- Flood areas: a home counts when the center of its lot falls inside a FEMA zone or the Harvey estimated-flooding area.
- Flood claims and premiums: FEMA's redacted NFIP datasets, by reported ZIP. They describe the area, not any one house.
- Distances: from the nearest home's lot center to the facility, well or pipeline.
